Potatoes Three Ways

Potatoes are the most basic vegetable and can be found very easily in every household. They are also versatile and can be used in many different ways. Here are a few easy and delicious things that you can make with potatoes!

Jacket Potatoes.

I personally think this is one of the best things to make out of potatoes! It’s so easy and tastes absolutely amazing! To make this you need to take as many potatoes as you want to eat, wash them and put them in the oven to bake for about half an hour to forty- five minutes at about 180 degrees Celsius. Remove them from the oven and slice them open from the middle (make sure to not split it in half) then drizzle them with olive oil, sprinkle salt, pepper and oregano and stuff it with lots of grated cheese. Put them back in the oven till the cheese melts. Take them out and top them off with a good serving of baked beans! Trust me, you will relish every bite of this cheesy- potato goodness.

Potato Croquettes. 

Deep fried potatoes! There is honestly nothing better than that. To make these, you need to boil and mash your potatoes. Add in some corn or peas along with salt, pepper and a little butter. Mix all these together and shape them into little cylindrical shapes. Coat them in a layer of egg and then with a layer of crushed cornflakes. Deep fry them until golden brown. Enjoy it with  some ketchup maybe?!

Potato Tikkis.

These are perfect to make a grilled sandwich with! It’s really easy to make them and they taste amazing. Start off by boiling and mashing your potatoes. Add in some salt, chili powder, chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander and mashed bread slices. Shape them into little discs and deep fry them. You can have them on their own with some chutney or make a beautiful double grilled sandwich with them! The choice is yours.

Potato Chaat.

This is one of my personal favorites. It is really easy to make this. Start by boiling your potatoes and cut them into little bite size pieces. Add in chopped tomato, onions and coriander along with some salt, chili powder, chaat masala powder and some lemon juice. Top it off with any chutney that you like (green chutney/ date chutney/ tamarind chutney) and some whipped up curd. Garnish with some more chopped coriander and your chaat is ready!
